This course is a continuation of Heavy Equipment Level 1 and will introduce students to the basic terminology and equipment used in the heavy equipment trade. This is a hands-on class and students will have actual seat time on a variety of heavy equipment. Students will gain proficiency in soil stabilization and good grade determination, excavation and equipment operational safety. Students will learn what makes a good operator, the importance of safety, and Identify career opportunities available to heavy equipment operators.
Financial Assistance Requirements:
All applicants must be:
1. at least 21 years old.
2. a US Citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid employment authorization document.
3. able to pass a drug screening test.
4. in possession of a valid driver's license and have personal reliable transportation.

NCCER HEAVY EQUIPMENT LEVEL ONE MODULES INCLUDE:
Module 1: Orientation to the Trade
Module 2: Heavy Equipment Safety
Module 3: Identification of Heavy Equipment
Module 4: Basic Operational Techniques
Module 5: Utility Tractors
Module 6: Introduction to Earth Moving
Module 7: Grades
You must attend 90% of all scheduled class hours, in addition to completing any other requirements set by the instructor, in order to pass the class and be awarded CEUs and a Certificate of Completion.
