The main function of the supervisor, manager, leader, or boss is to get work done effectively through others. Successful delegation is a critical skill needed to achieve that goal, especially for the new supervisor. This full-day course will focus on the research and theory of effective delegation and provide “hands-on” tools and techniques needed when delegating. You’ll learn how to recognize what can and cannot be delegated, how to match an employee’s skills and willingness with task assignments, how to apply the 4 major delegation steps, and how to motivate and monitor employee progress. Empowerment, not micromanagement, is the key to successful delegation.
