CCNA1 is the first in a 3-course series designed to prepare you for the CCNA 200-301 certification exam. You will learn basic switch, device, and router configuration, protocols and models, number systems, IPv4 addressing with an emphasis on variable length subnet masking, IPv6 addressing, network security fundamentals, and building a small network. This instructor lead course includes an online component with study materials, exams, and hands-on exercises with the advanced network simulator Cisco® Packet Tracer.  Internet access with a PC compatible computer is required for the online portion of the course. There is no required textbook for the course. All material is provided online by the Networking Academy.  Prerequisite: Knowledge of networking. CompTIA® Network+ certification is recommended. 
 
Passing the course requires 70% or better grade marks with 90% in-class attendance.  Students must be present for the last class to complete the hands-on skills exam (25% of the grade) or they must pre-arrange with the instructor to take the skills exam prior to the last class.
