FastForward Eligible Program: To qualify for financial assistance for FastForward programs, you must meet the Virginia domicile requirements. Virginia "domicile" means you have lived in Virginia and intended to stay here indefinitely for at least one year before the date of application. A domicile determination form will be part of your registration process. If you qualify, you will pay one-third of the cost of the program.

Course Prerequisites: Students interested in taking this class must have
one of the following:
- CompTIA Network+ certification
- Minimum of two years on-the-job work experience in information security
- Degree (AS, BA, BS) in IT, Computer Science, or Cyber Security
- ITN 260 (Network Security Basics) - NOVA course completion with a C or better

Course Description: CompTIA® Security+ is a vendor-neutral certification that validates the competency of security professionals working in the IT industry. The Security+ certification confirms a technician's critical knowledge of communication security, infrastructure security, cryptography, operational security, and general security concepts.
Included with Tuition: The course, textbook, CertMaster Practice, and industry certification exam. No other certification exams can be substituted in this program.
Note: The textbook ($51) and CertMaster Practice ($69) are assigned to students on or by the first day of class and are
non-refundable once assigned.
What is Expected: You must attend 70% of all scheduled class hours, in addition to completing any other requirements set by the instructor, and sit for the Industry Credential exam. You will have 30 calendar days from the end of the in-class program to sit for the exam.
