Workforce Education & Development for City of Falls Church Employees

The City of Falls Church has partnered with Northern Virginia Community College - NOVA Workforce to provide select tuition-free classes to the City of Falls Church employees. City employees must receive supervisor approval before enrolling in classes. Classes may be taken during business hours. Employees may take multiple classes, however, only one class at a time.

How to enroll in NOVA Workforce classes:

Step 1: Browse the currently available classes listed below. For a list of all approved courses, click here. Not all courses are offered at all times. Please continue to check this web page for up-to-date class listings. Classes will be updated in July, November, and April.

Step 2: Click the class title to read the full class description, prerequisites, and schedule. Classes can meet online and/or in person at NOVA campuses. Note: You must meet any prerequisite before enrolling.

Step 3: Complete and submit the Training Request Form. You will need the Class Title, Class ID, and full schedule for the class you would like to enroll in. Your supervisor will verify your class selection. A new Training Request Form is needed for each class you wish to enroll in.

Step 4: Once your supervisor has approved your class selection, NOVA Workforce staff will contact you and confirm your class and any prerequisites. A MyWorkforce profile creation is part of this step for new students.

Step 5: NOVA Workforce staff will enroll you in your selected class with a tuition waiver. A confirmation email will be sent to you. Note: It is your responsibility to follow up with your supervisor about the class status. If you would like to cancel the class, you must follow NOVA Workforce's refund process. In case NOVA Workforce cancels the class, you will be informed by email before the class starting date.
