The challenge of complying with the various state, federal and international privacy laws and regulations can be overwhelming. This course will take you step-by-step through a Privacy Risk Assessment case study.  You will assess and then draft policies to meet the privacy obligations of a fictitious company (or you may apply the case study to your own company or organization). Additionally, you will gain an understanding of legal and regulatory obligations on data privacy. The course will also help prepare you to take and pass the Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) credential granted by the International Association of Privacy Professionals. The CIPP/US confirms that you know privacy laws and regulations and how to apply them, thus securing your place in the information economy. You must attend 90% of all scheduled class hours, in addition to completing any other requirements set by the instructor, in order to pass the class and be awarded CEUs and a Certificate of Completion.
