This workshop is essential for anyone interested in getting a better understanding of basic accounting principles and terminology as they relate to nonprofits. Learn why everyone in the nonprofit world, from board members to staff and donors, needs to have a basic understanding of financial reports/statements and accounting terms. Explore topics such as organizational structure and tax-exempt status, as well as internal controls and the importance of separation of duties when it comes to handling cash and preventing theft. You must attend 90% of all scheduled class hours, in addition to completing any other requirements set by the instructor, in order to pass the class and be awarded CEUs and a Certificate of Completion.
