Web Development 1 introduces students to PHP and MySQL, widely used back-end programming languages. In this hands-on course you will discover how to administer, maintain, and troubleshoot the supporting infrastructure i.e. web servers and web-based databases. Students will learn how web developers effectively plan, design, implement, and troubleshoot dynamic websites built in PHP. You will learn implementing web-based applications using arrays, strings, regular expressions, and file input/output. You will discover how PHP and MySQL work together in order to build powerful and dynamic web applications. Prerequisites: Web Design 1 & 2. Web Development I assumes students have some experience with front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript). We encourage you to bring your own laptop to complete and save the course projects. No Textbook Required.
You must attend 90% of all scheduled class hours, in addition to completing any other requirements set by the instructor, in order to pass the class and be awarded CEUs and a Certificate of Completion.
