Program Description:

Gain valuable knowledge and skills to jump-start your career as an IT Support Technician! As an IT Support Tech, you will be responsible for analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving a wide range of technology issues. To be successful, you will need a foundational knowledge of operating systems, hardware, networking, and more.

The IT Support Technician Pathway is designed for those who are new to IT and have limited professional experience. You will attend class Monday – Friday for ten weeks. This longer boot camp-style program will dive deeper into the learning objectives and will help prepare you for three national industry certifications: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, and CompTIA Security+. CompTIA certifications are the industry standard for validating skills and knowledge for technical support and IT operational roles. Also, these certifications are what employers require for new employees in these types of positions. Prerequisite: Working knowledge of personal computers.

Required FastForward Courses:

FastForward CompTIA A+ (84 hours)
This course will give you the foundations needed for the CompTIA® A+ Core Series certification exams. Through lectures and lab exercises, you will learn to configure and support PC, mobile, and IoT device hardware, configure device operating systems and implement basic data backup and recovery methods. You will learn how to administer client-based as well as cloud-based (SaaS) software and support basic IT infrastructure and networking. You will also gain skills to troubleshoot and problem solve core service and support challenges while applying best practices for documentation, change management, and the use of scripting in IT support. This course aligns with the CompTIA Core 1 and Core 2 exams.

FastForward CompTIA Network+ (84 hours)
CompTIA® Network+ is a vendor-neutral certification and provides you with a fundamental understanding of computer networks. Topics include Network Media, Architecture, Operations, Technologies, and Devices. You will also gain a basic understanding of emerging technologies, including unified communications, mobile, cloud, and virtualization. This class is based on the latest exam.

FastForward CompTIA Security+ (84 hours)
CompTIA® Security+ is a vendor-neutral certification that validates the competency of security professionals working in the IT industry. The Security+ certification confirms a technician's critical knowledge of communication security, infrastructure security, cryptography, operational security, and general security concepts.
