This is a FastForward Program: FastForward programs are short-term training courses for industry credentials in high-demand jobs. Eligible Virginia residents may pay only one-third (1/3) of the full tuition cost. To qualify, you must meet the Virginia domicile requirements. Virginia "domicile" means you have lived in Virginia and intended to stay here indefinitely for at least one year before the date of application. A domicile determination form will be part of your registration process. Additional financial assistance is available to offset some or all of the FastForward tuition costs. Certification Exam Prerequisites: 
Sitting for the industry certification exam is an expectation for FastForward programs. Candidates for the CALP certification need at least six months of onsite property management experience in a leasing role. Candidates will receive a provisional certificate until this requirement is met. Candidates have six months from the start date of the class to earn their credential and meet the work experience requirement. For more information, visit the CALP Handbook (naahq.org).

Earning your Certified Apartment Leasing Professional (CALP) credential signals to an employer your commitment to a career in residential property management. This is an entry-level credential and is stackable.

What is Expected:
 
  • You must apply with NAA before the first day of class. Application information will be provided to registered students.
  • You must attend 70% of all scheduled class hours, in addition to completing any other requirements set by the instructor.
  • You are expected to sit for the industry credential exam.
  • You must meet specific work experience criteria when you submit your application for the CALP exam. You have six months from the class starting date to earn your credential. For more information, visit the CALP Handbook (naahq.org).
 
Included with tuition:  

The course materials, e-textbook, and CALP certification exam. No other certification exams can be substituted in this program. Note: The e-textbook ($200) is assigned to students on or by the first day of class and is non-refundable once assigned.
