Eligible Virginia residents may pay only one-third (1/3) of the full tuition cost. To qualify, you must meet the Virginia domicile requirements. Virginia "domicile" means you have lived in Virginia and intended to stay here indefinitely for at least one year before the date of application. A domicile determination form will be part of your registration process. Additional financial assistance is available to offset some or all of the FastForward tuition costs.

The NOVA Workforce Fiber Optics Installer Certification Preparation Course provides essential knowledge and hands-on training to develop the foundational skills necessary for working with both residential and commercial fiber optic systems. In this course, you will learn the basics of installing and maintaining fiber optic networks, including the installation of new fiber optic lines, repairing existing networks, setting up and configuring equipment, and splicing new lines into the network grid. You will also gain experience in installing lines both above ground on poles and underground, as well as techniques for protecting fiber optic cables during construction.
Acquiring these skills will equip you to meet the diverse requirements for safely and competently installing, maintaining, and testing fiber optic cabling systems. This training is specifically designed to prepare students for the ETA® Fiber Optic Installer (FOI) certification exam and includes practical, hands-on activities conducted in a classroom setting.
Prerequisite: None.
Included with Tuition: The course, textbook, classroom materials, and industry certification exam. No other certification exams can be substituted in this program.

non-refundable once assigned.
What is Expected: You are expected to attend 100% of all scheduled class hours and complete any other requirements set by the program. Upon completing this program, you will be eligible to test for the ETA® Fiber Optic Installer (FOI) certification exam.
