This placement test is for ESL classes offered through NOVA's American Culture & Language Institute (ACLI). All new students must take the ACLI ESL placement test before enrolling in ESL classes. The ACLI ESL placement test has two parts: an in-person writing test and an online speaking test via Zoom.

Step 1: Create a MyWorkforce Profile (new students only)

Step 2: Register for the ACLI ESL Writing Placement Test. Add this class to the cart and check out - it's free! Please make sure you select the location and time that works best for you. You will receive a confirmation email with the details of your test.

Step 3: Take the in-person writing test. After you finish, you will receive instructions on how to schedule the speaking part of the test.

Step 4: Take the online ACLI ESL Speaking Placement Test. After you finish both parts of the test, you will receive your ACLI ESL course recommendations in an email. Test results are valid for one year and can be used at all ACLI locations.

Step 5: Register for classes. Follow the instructions included with your test results on how to register.
