Learn about the most common types of discretionary benefits, and how they are selected and administered. Explore legal requirements, administrative problems and available options, as well as government-mandated plans such as workers' compensation and Social Security. Examine important policy issues on sick leave, vacation, jury duty and leaves of absence, and learn how they are related to organizational culture and policy. Also explore work-life option programs that address a range of monetary and non monetary options beyond salary compensation and benefits. Textbook Required.  You must attend 90% of all scheduled class hours, in addition to completing any other requirements set by the instructor, in order to pass the class and be awarded CEUs and a Certificate of Completion.  Prerequisite: Principles of HR Management.  

This program is valid for 12 PDCs for the SHRM-CPSM or SHRM-SCPSM.
