This is a FastForward Program: FastForward programs are short-term training courses for industry credentials in high-demand jobs. Eligible Virginia residents may pay only one-third (1/3) of the full tuition cost. To qualify, you must meet the Virginia domicile requirements. Virginia "domicile" means you have lived in Virginia and intended to stay here indefinitely for at least one year before the date of application. A domicile determination form will be part of your registration process. Additional financial assistance is available to offset some or all of the FastForward tuition costs. Students interested in taking this course must have one of the following: Before registration, complete the IT Course Prerequisite Form and upload proof of having completed one of the listed prerequisites. You will be dropped from the course if you register without submitting proof.

Looking to master Python programming fundamentals? The Pearson IT Specialist: Python certification provides an immersive learning experience that will equip you with the skills you need to succeed. Python is a versatile and powerful object-oriented programming language that is easy to learn yet capable of handling complex tasks. Through hands-on learning, you will actively develop your skills in data types and operators, flow control with decisions and loops, input and output operations, code documentation and structure, as well as troubleshooting and error handling. Additionally, you will gain experience in performing basic file system and command-line operations using built-in modules. By the end of the course, you will be able to write syntactically correct Python code that effectively solves various problems. This course is ideal for students interested in pursuing careers in software development, data science, or any field that requires programming skills. Upon completion, students will have a solid understanding of Python programming and will be well-equipped to tackle more advanced topics in programming, data analytics, and data science while preparing for the Pearson VUE IT Specialist – Python certification.   
 
What is Expected:

Certification prep courses are rigorous and demand significant time and effort. You must attend 70% of all scheduled class hours, complete all requirements set by the instructor, and sit for the Industry Credential exam within 30 days from the last class session. Additional study time outside class hours will be expected.

What is Included:

Learn Key, Gmetrix Practice Tests ($47), Proctor Session ($35), and industry certification exam voucher. Students are assigned all materials on the first day of class, and they are non-refundable once class begins.

This program cannot be combined with any other discounts/promotions.
 
Credit for Prior Learning allows you to earn credit for college-level knowledge that you have already acquired and accelerates the completion of your educational goals. NOVA accepts select industry credentials for college credit. The IT Specialist: Python Certification certification is approved for Credit for Prior Learning for the following classes at NOVA: ITP 150
