AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate)

This is a FastForward Program: FastForward programs are short-term training courses for industry credentials in high-demand jobs. Eligible Virginia residents may pay only one-third (1/3) of the full tuition cost. To qualify, you must meet the Virginia domicile requirements. Virginia "domicile" means you have lived in Virginia and intended to stay here indefinitely for at least one year before the date of application. A domicile determination form will be part of your registration process. Additional financial assistance is available to offset some or all of the FastForward tuition costs. Students interested in taking this course must have one of the following:

• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification
• CompTIA A+ certification
• CompTIA Network+ certification
•  CompTIA Cloud+ certification
• Google IT Support Professional Certificate
• NOVA course ITN 213 or ITN 257 with a grade of C or better. Equivalent courses from other accredited institutions of higher education may be substituted. You must provide course descriptions and a transcript with final grades.

Before registration, complete the IT Course Prerequisite Form and upload proof of having completed one of the listed prerequisites. You will be dropped from the course if you register without submitting proof.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certifications are the leading certificates for any IT professional working with AWS. This hands-on course will provide in-depth knowledge about AWS architectural principles and components. You will learn to manage highly available and fault-tolerant enterprise and web-scale software deployments, migrate and deploy cloud-based solutions, and implement cloud solutions on AWS. The course will help participants prepare for the AWS Architect Certification -  Associate Level exam. 
 
Certification prep courses are rigorous and demand significant time and effort. You must attend 70% of all scheduled class hours, complete all requirements set by the instructor, and sit for the Industry Credential exam within 30 days from the last class session. Additional study time outside class hours will be expected.

Credit for Prior Learning allows you to earn credit for college-level knowledge that you have already acquired and accelerates the completion of your educational goals. NOVA accepts select industry credentials for college credit. The AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification is approved for Credit for Prior Learning for the following classes at NOVA: ITN 213
