FastForward pays $3,000 of the total tuition for Massage Therapy. Additional funding sources may be available to cover the student's portion of the tuition. To qualify, you must meet the Virginia domicile requirements. Virginia "domicile" means you have lived in Virginia and intended to stay here indefinitely for at least one year before the date of application. A domicile determination form will be part of your registration process.

Admission Requirements:
- Students must have a high school diploma, GED, or college degree. Foreign diplomas need to have an official translation.
- Students must complete the Healthcare Orientation before registering for this class.
Program Description:
Therapeutic Massage is a
500-hour course that will instruct students in the field of massage therapy. Topics include but are not limited to the history of massage, client-therapist relationship, draping techniques and procedures, business development, ethics, Western massage modalities, aromatherapy, indications, and contra-indications for massage. Students will also have on-the-job experiential learning in our newly built state-of-the-art Spa Skills Lab, where you will learn how to work in a fast-paced environment and provide effective treatment for each client. Massage Lab clients will consist of NOVA faculty, staff, students as well as members of local communities.
Through a combination of lectures, online coursework, laboratory, and practical clinic work, this course will provide the skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience necessary to embark upon a career in massage therapy. Instruction will prepare students to sit for the national exam (MBLEx) and certify them to apply for a massage license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

- Pathology: 40 hours
- Benefits of Touch: 60 hours
- Client Assessment: 65 Hours
- Ethics: 6 hours
- Professional Practice: 4 hours
- Hands-on practice: 200 hours
Technology Requirement:
All students need access to the internet and a computer with a webcam and microphone.
Chromebooks, iPads, or mobile phones are not supported.

Bundled price includes the course, digital books, and industry certification exam (MBLEx). No other certification exam can be substituted in this program. Note: The digital learning materials are assigned to students on or by the first day of class and are
non-refundable once assigned.
